Book Introduction/ Judaism and Zionism from the Perspective of the Noble Qur’an

In the research conducted in the noble Qur'an, we can point to three categories of verses about the Jewish people: The first category are verses that only deal with the history of the evolution of the nation of Israel and have not taken a specific position.

Faraan; The book, Judaism and Zionism from the Perspective of the Noble Qur’an, written by Hadi Ajili and edited by Mohammad Reza Mousavi was published in 2011 by Imam Sadiq (a) University Press. The author is a university professor and a member of the university faculty. He has published works and articles in the field of international relations that are in the political field.

The Purpose of the Research
The purpose of this research is: 1- Using the Quranic teachings in the field of politics. 2- Getting a more accurate and essential comprehension of Zionism based on the noble Qur’an. 3- Strengthening the flow of the Quranic studies with the aim of achieving practical benefits. 4- Proposing feasible solutions for the practical policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the Zionist regime.
Among the sources that the author has used, we can mention books such as: The Seeds of Conspiracy by Hossein Abu Torabian, The Comprehensive Commentary by Seyyid Ebrahim Boroujerdi, The Evolution of the Qur’an by Seyyid Mohammad Mehdi Jafari, Tafsir Al-Mizan, The World is a Jewish Toy by Seyyid Mohammad Shirazi and so on. This book with an eloquent tone is very suitable for students, researchers and even the ordinary people who are eager to study about Judaism.

The Author’s Main Goal for Writing the Book
In this work, the author considers the answer to the following questions as the main goal for writing the book:
The main question: How is the phenomenon of Zionism analyzed based on the negative characteristics of the Jewish people in the noble Qur’an?
Sub-questions: 1- What are the negative characteristics of the Jewish people in the noble Qur’an? 2- What are the negative features of the phenomenon of Zionism? 3- How is the type of relationship between the phenomenon of Zionism and Judaism mentioned in the noble Qur’an, analyzed and presented? 4- Based on the mentioned characteristics, what should be the practical policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran against Zionism?

Assumptions Governing this Research
The assumptions governing the research are: 1- The Jewish people are presented in the noble Qur’an with negative and positive features. 2- Zionism is not the complete equivalent of Judaism, so we have both non-Jewish and non-Zionist Zionism.
The approach used in this article is to understand the view of the verses of the noble Qur’an and then, based on that view, going to the understanding of the facts, that is, to compare the facts with the noble Qur’an. In this book, the author tries to explain and analyze the issue of Zionism by modeling the way the noble Qur’an deals with the Jewish issue. This book answers the main and secondary questions of the research in six chapters and proves its hypotheses.

Chapter 1: Introduction
In this chapter, the author expresses the generalities of the research, its purposes and concerns, the questions considered, the assumptions, and in general an index of what the reader will get from the book.

Chapter 2: The Negative Characteristics of the Jewish People in the noble Qur’an
In the studies conducted in the noble Qur’an, we can point to three categories of the verses about the Jewish people: The first category are verses that deal only with the history of the evolution of the nation of Israel and have not taken a specific position. The second category is the verses that express the positive and desirable attributes and characteristics about the people of Israel. However, the third category are verses that express the negative features.
In this chapter, 176 verses which include 65 negative attributes of the Jewish people have been elaborated. These verses are divided into four categories: ideological, faith (such as infidelity and disbelief), social (such as racism, avarice, and hypocrisy); economic (such as usury) and political (such as betrayal and espionage). In general, the view of the noble Qur’an towards the Jews is negative, and this view is not limited to the Jews of Medina and the time of the revelation of the noble Qur’an.

Chapter 3: Characteristics of the Phenomenon of Zionism
The school of Zionism is more political in nature and is a kind of political interpretation of the Torah. This school is the basis of the formation of the state of Israel and has been one of the important factors in the emergence of Zionism, the racist temperament of the Jews. Likewise, it dominated the atmosphere of nationalism in the nineteenth-century in Europe.
The main purpose of this school is to gather the Jews from all over the world and to form a Jewish state and society. This government, called Israel, is a symbol of Western culture and civilization and it secures their interests in the Middle East. In this chapter, a total of 26 attributes are mentioned in regards to Zionism, which are all similar to the Jewish attributes mentioned in the noble Qur’an.

Chapter 4: The Close Relationship between Zionism and Judaism
Considering the characteristics of the Jewish people and the characteristics of Zionism and confirming the close relationship between these two phenomena, it can be said that some of these attributes have been seen continuously throughout the Jewish history and some of them have been related to providing the ground for their emergence and occurrence. One of the first categories of the ideological and faith attributes, for example, is the continuation of the attribute of infidelity and unbelief, which the Zionist Abba Ebban admits: “There has never been a pure religious belief among the children of Israel. Idolatry is well-known among the children of Israel and the worship of the god, Baal.”
From the second category of traits (social): 1- Racism 2- Prevalence of corruption on earth 3- Cruelty of heart and crime are the common traits of these two groups; From the third category of traits (economic): 1- Secularism: The Jews have chosen their main goal to be the achievement of the worldly ornaments. And since their ultimate desire is the world, in order to achieve it, they violate all the esteemed human values and thus become the factor causing division and hypocrisy amongst the people. Moreover, the Zionist’s money-making spirit, usury and utilitarianism have always been the most prominent features of this people throughout the history, which it has preserved in all circumstances.

Chapter 5: The Principles of Practical Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Towards the Phenomenon of Zionism and Israel Based on the Proposed Model of the Noble Qur’an
The Islamic Republic of Iran, whose foundation is based on the religion of Islam, the guidelines of the noble Qur’an, traditions and the constitution, has special principles and ideological foundations that also shape its identity. In this chapter, the author deals specifically with what is inferred from the thoughts and objectives of Imam Khomeini (r.a) and so on which forms the motives of the Islamic Revolution and the goals of the Islamic Republic.
Among these motives and goals that are related to the issue of Zionism and Israel, we can mention; the fight against oppression and injustice, the fight against global imperialism, the revival of pure Muhammadan Islam, the awakening and awareness of the Muslims against colonialism and exploitation.
Given the need to follow the example of the Prophetic way of life, the Islamic Republic’s stance against Israel can be based on the Prophet’s treatment of the Jews of Banu Qurayza and the Jews of Khaybar. The reason that led to the Prophet’s severe treatment towards the Jews is what Israel is currently doing to the Muslim world and their identities are based on the objective examples and expressions of the noble Qur’an. Moreover, among the Qur’anic principles related to the Islamic Republic’s stance against these two phenomena, we can name; the principle of distrust, the principle of struggle and conflict, the principle of caution, the principle of non-duration and severance of relations.
