Professor of the University of Tehran and the expert of foreign affairs, Dr. Mohammad Sadegh Koushky told the Mashreghnews website about direct negotiations with the U.S. “Fulfilling Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPA)’s commitments is the only way for the United States to return to the negotiating table”. Of course, In the last session of Vienna talks, Biden’s diplomatic team responded negatively to the Iranian side in response to JCPA’s commitments. Although, Washington has heard well the voice of change in Iranian government’s policy after the presidential elections; and the Americans have to pay for a souvenir photo next to the Iranian flag and sitting on the JCPA’s table.
No form of direct negotiation is acceptable
First of all, according to the explicit guidance of the Great Leader of Revolution, negotiation with the U.S. is forbidden at any level, and we will gain nothing but loss. the Americans should dream of direct negotiations with Iran. Secondly, the Americans left JCPA, so they are not members of JCPA and do not have the right to enter into the negotiations. The Islamic Republic of Iran has stated that it has no model of negotiations with the Americans, and if they want to be added to the 4+1 talks; they must fulfill all their JCPA’s obligations. The Islamic Republic will verify those commitments, and if they are approved (after fact checking), then they can consider themselves as one of the five 5+1 and can present itself at the negotiation table with the Islamic Republic. But in the current situation, the Islamic Republic is completely dissident of their presence at the negotiating table.
Let Europe heal itself
The 13th administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran has proved that it will not rely on negotiations with Europe. We don’t need this kind of negotiations and we came to this negotiation because of the over-insistence of the Europeans. This is the problem of the Europeans and they must gather their strength so that we may be present in this negotiation. In fact, the Islamic Republic does not hesitate to consult with the various parties in addition to the 4+1. We have no restrictions or prohibitions in this regard. We may want to consult with Russia or China as members of the 4+1, or we may even need to negotiate with either European country alone. If the Europeans cannot, then they have to heal themselves, and this problem is not ours.
The economy must be detached from negotiation
We are sure about the talks and we are convinced that it will not yield any result, and it will only take energy and time from us. As it has been for the last eight years. During this period the negotiation has only wasted our money and energy, imposed costs on us, and caused us problems. We are trying to completely separate our economy from the negotiations. Our economy must focus on the economic realities of society. That is why we do not need to negotiate now.
The the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister’s visit to Brussels showed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has no problem with the principle of negotiations but will not hope for it either. However, this strategy means that the enemy cannot accuse the Islamic Republic of suspending the negotiations. The difference between the 13th administration and the administration of Hassan Rouhani is that President Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi knows that These negotiations should not be hoped for; and these negotiations are not serious and have no result, and the economy and livelihood of the people should not be annexed to it in any way. Fortunately, the enemies do not have any effective bargaining chip to pressurize us; so, they can’t force us to make hard choices, because we have passed this arena. It is now the Islamic Republic that can put them in a difficult dilemma.
The problem with the Rouhani administration was that it had complete confidence in the Americans and had been signing their written texts without reading them; But the strategy of the Raisi’s administration is completely different, realistic and vigilant, and more importantly, we, as a government and a nation, currently have no hope for the West and do not feel inferior to them.
