Faraan Zionist Research Base; The Hollywood movies about the devil are divided into several groups: In some movies, such as Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, a lot of power has been given to the devil; however, there is no mention of God. A number of films, such as The Exorcist and The Omen 1, 2, and 3, also mention Christ alongside Satan, but the magnification and fear of Satan’s power are rippling through these works. Some of these works depict Satan beside God.
Others portray the devil to be more powerful than God. Movies such as the Omen 4 and 5 and Constantine.
The fear of the power of Satan is the prelude to surrender to him and despair of Divine mercy and inclination towards the devil and his worship. Whoever fears the devil or any other creature has, in fact, somehow surrendered to his power and become his servant. The noble Qur’ān states:
«إِنَّمَا ذَلِکُمُ الشَّیْطَانُ یُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِیَاءَهُ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِنْ کُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِینَ»
That is only Satan frightening [you] of his followers! So fear them not, and fear Me, should you be faithful. (Surat Aal Imran: 175)
In many films with a religious theme, a kind of evil demon or the embodiment of an evil character or Satanism is prominent.
It is very important to use the genre of horror and adventure in films made about the devil, and the use of black, red, yellow, and sometimes sky blue colors in the environment of evil, along with dust and eclipse, is very significant.
Animals such as scorpions, snakes, winged and horned dragons, bats, black dogs, spiders, jackals, crows, goats and Baphomet (red creature, symbol of the fire of hell, with a tail and a spear in hand), are symbols of Satan and his companions.
Symbols such as the inverted cross, inverted crescent, obelisk conical column, five-pointed and six-pointed star in a circle with Hebrew letters or alone, evil faces, skull and bone, fleshless skeleton, bloody sword, triangle and asymmetrical circles side by side, incomplete circles with a single center are among the most important symbols of evils, which in turn are symbols of Satan.
The numbers 666, 3, 6, and 13 are considered ominous numbers in some movies. Violence, vandalism, witchcraft, divination, horror, despair, darkness and blackness are the main features of the Satanic narratives which by use of Satanic music, depict the power of the devil. By this means, these films make the unconscious spirit of the audience to submit and show humility to the devil. Moreover, by intensifying the stimulation of the sense of lust, violence and savagery, they cause the audience to lose their mental balance and take away from them the ability to think and thus influence them in this way.
