Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, head of the Higher Islamic Council in Occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem), has said that “the Palestinians will not allow the Israeli occupation regime, despite its arrogance, to achieve its temporal and spatial division plan at the Aqsa Mosque.”
Faraan: In recent press remarks, Sheikh Sabri said that the Palestinians would foil the occupation’s plan to divide the Aqsa Mosque temporally and spatially despite its persistence in banishing Awqaf employees and Muslim worshipers from their holy site and city.
According to Sheikh Sabri, the temporal division at the Aqsa Mosque means that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) seeks to allocate specific hours to Jewish settlers without the presence of Muslim worshipers in their Mosque.
However, the spatial division means that the IOA wants to seize an area of the Aqsa Mosque, especially its eastern area and Bab al-Rahma, and make it a place for Jewish prayers. Sheikh Sabri expressed his belief that such plans would be frustrated by the awareness of Jerusalemites and their keenness on defending their holy city, adding that the city’s youths succeeded in confronting and foiling Israeli Judaization projects in their city.
The Jerusalemite official also affirmed that “[any normalizer] visiting the Aqsa Mosque through the occupation state is not welcome and will be treated as an intruder.” He stressed that the normalizers confer legitimacy on the occupation through their visits to the Aqsa Mosque, adding that the Arab and Muslim should be aware of the importance of this Mosque in their faith.
