The defense minister of the Yemeni National Salvation Government said that the Saudi aggressor coalition is using the cease fire to organize mercenaries and carry out its hostile plans and scenarios.
Faraan: The Minister of Defense of the Yemeni National Salvation Government, Mohammad Nasser Al-Atefi, said that the aggressor Saudi-Emirati coalition had exposed its conspiracies by opposing any action for peace.
The National Salvation Government hoped that the UN cease fire would be the beginning of an end to the aggression and siege and steps based on trust and a sense of responsibility, Al-Masifi reported, quoting Al-Atefi. “The aggressor coalition is using the ceasefire to organize mercenaries, carry out hostile plans and scenarios,” the Yemeni defense minister continued. “The so-called Presidential Council is also the last piece of the coalition to prepare for the next war and to direct its forces to start the war.”
“We are telling the aggressor countries that what they wish for will not come true,” he said. “They will be the first target [of the Yemeni army], and future actions will be more painful than in the past.” Al-Atefi stated that Yemen has provided the necessary equipment for its military capability and to upgrade its military tools and methods, and that they are finally ready for war in the face of any eventuality.
“The Yemeni army is ready for all military options,” he concluded, stressing that the aggressors are not adhering to the terms of the cease fire, which means that they are facing an enemy who does not believe in the language of peace and whose behavior is criminal. A UN envoy announced a two-month cease fire in Yemen on April 2, halting ground, naval and air strikes, facilitating the entry of 18 fuel-carrying ships into al-Hudaidah ports and authorizing weekly flights to / from Sanaa airport.
Sanaa Airport just saw its first flight last week after a six-year siege by the Saudi coalition. The flight was based on a temporary ceasefire agreement and was to be completed a month and a half in advance. Meanwhile, Mehdi al-Mashat, the chairman of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, stressed on Sunday evening that the Saudi coalition had violated thousands of cease fires in Yemen, saying that the coalition had carried out more than 2,000 rocket and artillery attacks during the cease fire.
Stating that the Yemeni people do not feel any difference between the cease fire period and the non-cease fire period, he stressed that Yemen is not against the extension of the cease fire, but cannot accept a cease fire in which the people’s problems continue.
