Informed Yemeni sources reported that the UAE is trying to build a new military base for the Zionist regime in Socotra.
Faraan: Well-informed sources reported on Friday that the United Arab Emirates, along with the military of the Zionist Provisional Regime, continue their occupation actions in Yemen’s “Socotra” archipelago.
Al-Sahafa Al-Yamaniyah news website reported, quoting this source, that Mahmoud Fateh Ali Al-Khaja, one of the main factors in the compromise between the UAE and the Zionist regime, has purchased extensive lands in the ‘Hajhar’ mountain area. These sources said that Al-Khaja’s purpose for this action is to build a new military base for the Zionist regime in Socotra. Hajhar area overlooks Hadibo beach.
According to the mentioned sources, the purchase of these lands took place after a Zionist military delegation visited this area last September. These heights are like a natural fortress that has an important strategic position. Yemeni sources reported in September last month that the Zionist regime sent its military experts to the occupied island of Socotra through the UAE. According to these sources, a Zionist military delegation along with a number of UAE intelligence officers were present on this island.
According to the aforementioned sources, the military delegation, who were probably technical experts affiliated with the Zionist Navy, had many devices and equipment. Last July, the UAE sent some foreign engineers and pilots, including some Zionists, to Socotra to build a landing strip for reconnaissance drones and military helicopters in the southern region of the island. In 2020, the UAE built a naval military base in Socotra together with the Zionists and expelled the officials affiliated with the aggressor Saudi-Emirati coalition from this area.
Benny Gantz, the Minister of War of the Zionist regime, claimed in a statement on June 20 that this regime is creating a regional air defense called the “Middle East Air Defense Coalition”.
At the same time, the Western media announced that one of the areas where the establishment of these systems was discussed was Yemen’s Socotra Island.
