FARAAN: In the second part of his interview with Al-Alam network, the spokesperson for the Fatah Movement emphasized that the so-called “Jewish state’s” ambitions lie in the West Bank of Palestine. Those following the enemy’s aggressive operations and their intensification in the West Bank over the past two years will notice a shift in the targeting of this area. Camps are being raided, and land confiscation is justified by the claim that the West Bank is a religious site for the alleged Jewish state.
Analysis:
In an interview with the program “Storm of Resistance” on Al-Alam, Abdulfattah Dawlat pointed out that the Zionist project in Palestine has been ongoing. However, the process slowed down in the short term after the events of October 7, as if the Zionist enemy, taking advantage of that operation, saw an opportunity to launch a comprehensive war against the Palestinian people and declared this moment as favorable for settling the conflict.
Dawlat noted that the aggression in the West Bank is no less brutal than the enemy’s savagery in Gaza. He added that genocide is happening in the West Bank, where entire cities are being destroyed, and a gradual project is underway, focusing particularly on the theft of land, putting the entire Jordan Valley at risk. Everyone encountered in these areas is being targeted, including areas classified under previous agreements as “A, B, and C,” which have now all become part of Area C under the occupation’s control.
He clarified that “military rule exists in the West Bank, and there is a group of fighters the occupiers seek to eliminate. Thus, eliminating them means destroying Palestinian camps. This is why we see the enemy focusing on camps in the West Bank. Furthermore, what stands out is the issue of land annexation, the displacement of Palestinians, and the Judaization and alteration of realities at Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem as a whole.”
Meanwhile, Ahmad Rafiq Awad, a professor of media at Al-Quds University, believes that the West Bank is the “crown jewel” in Israeli ideology and is key to completing the “religious Zionist” project, as the entire Torah narrative plays out there. Even an ordinary Jew is religious at heart, viewing Judea and Samaria as Biblical names for the West Bank, and they seek to relive that history.
Awad further explained, “When a settler gets into a jeep and armed, confronts a shepherd with their flock, this is not merely symbolic but a profound shift in awareness, practically reviving ancient history.”
He added that the return to settlement-building is driven by a deep religious obsession, making it a real process fraught with dangers. Hence, the decision to implement this plan is extremely significant.
Will the West Bank Become Part of the Zionist Regime?
Imad Abu Awwad, a researcher on Zionist regime affairs and director of the Jerusalem Studies Center, said that despite Israeli pressures, the regime is now divided into three states: the first is the Tel Aviv government, which lacks authority due to the dominance of religious Zionism over the regime’s institutions; the second is the Haredim (ultra-Orthodox) government, which is self-serving; and the third is the settlers’ government, which controls Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.
Beyond the Gates of the Zionist Regime in the West Bank
Abu Awwad noted that religious Zionism, which also controls the Haredim, aligns with the far-right figures like Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich. This new combination has successfully steered the religious Zionist idea toward dominating Palestinian lands and its people. If we delve into the mindset of figures like Ben Gvir, Smotrich, Gotlieb, and Sa’ar, we will see that controlling empty land is their primary project.
