Amir Abdullahian: We and Syria are in the same trench / Al-Maqdad: Coordination between us continues at both regional and international levels

Upon his arrival in Damascus, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized Iran’s support for the Syrian government and people, stating that Iran and Syria are in the same trench.

Faraan: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, arrived at Damascus Airport today (Wednesday, April 23), aand was welcomed by his Syrian counterpart, Faisal al-Miqdad.

Arriving in Damascus, the Iranian Foreign Minister told reporters while expressing his satisfaction with his presence in Syria: “I am very happy to be in the Syrian capital today with my colleagues. I am glad that the relations between Tehran and Damascus are at their best, and today we are talking about the strategic relationship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Arab Republic of Syria.

He added: “Today, along with all aspects of relations between the two countries, the issue of economic and trade cooperation is at the top of our agenda.” “The best interest of the people of our two countries is on our agenda,” he said, noting that trade, economic and political consultations between the two countries are at their best.
“We are in a single stronghold and Iran supports the leadership, the government and the Syrian people,” he said.
Coordination between us continues at both the regional and international levels.

In welcoming the Iranian Foreign Minister (Hussein Amir Abdullahian), the Syrian Foreign Minister (Faisal al-Maqdad) said the two sides would discuss important issues.  Faisal al-Maqdad went ahead by stating: “We insist on the best form of relations with the countries of the region, including relations with Iran and the Arab countries. “Coordination between us continues at both the regional and international levels.” Welcoming his Iranian counterpart, the Syrian Foreign Minister said that he would consult with the Iranian side on important issues and developments.
