Analysis of the resumption of ISIS attacks in Iraq

Experts and observers believe that the inability of the international coalition to completely destroy the Takfiri groups has caused the re-emergence of the dormant cores of these groups. They have warned that the more Iraq moves away from political stability, the terrorist groups will take advantage of the situation and push Iraq towards collapse.

Faraan: The political gurus believe that the dormant cores of terrorist groups have resumed their activities due to the conditions prevailing in Iraq, which are largely similar to the conditions of this country in 2014, and the intensification of political differences within this country.

These experts have also warned that the recent activities of the ISIS terrorist group have coincided with some current changes and developments in Iraq, which indicate that the country is moving towards political stability. Referring to this issue, experts emphasize that the purpose of “ISIS” in the recent attacks is sedition and creating problems for different sections of the Iraqi nation.

These experts point out that the recent movements of ISIS have coincided with some developments and events in Iraq, including the formation of a new cabinet headed by Sudani, which has the support of all political groups and coalitions, including Kurds and Sunnis. Also, the central government has decided to go ahead with the death sentence of the leaders of “ISIS”, so that just two days ago, the death sentence of one of the important leaders of “ISIS” – who was arrested by the Hashd al-Shaabi forces – was issued and will be executed soon. Moreover, the government has also taken a new strategy to stabilize and consolidate the independence and sovereignty of Iraq.

Finally, while warning about US interventions in Iraq, Syria and other regions, experts believe that as long as “ISIS” has many centers and origins in the region, its complete destruction is impossible.
