The European Union (EU) has condemned in a statement the Yemeni Armed Forces’ attacks on Saudi oil facilities, saying, “Attacks on cities and civilian facilities are unacceptable and must be stopped.”
Faraan: The European Union (EU) has reiterated its call on all parties to participate in the Yemeni-Yemeni consultative meetings scheduled for March 29 under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Within hours of the EU statement, the aggressor coalition took revenge on the Yemeni people by bombing two residential buildings in Sana’a where the guards of the General Directorate of Insurance lived with their families, leaving eight members of a family, including five children and two women dead. It is noteworthy that none of the EU officials has condemned the killing of children and women in Yemen, although these attacks target civilians with prior planning.
This hypocrisy is very strange. This is because the EU statement stressed that the Saudi targets targeted by the Yemenis are “civilian targets”. Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Energy acknowledged that the Yemeni attacks will affect Saudi Arabia’s ability to produce oil.
Despite the hypocrisy of the Europeans, it is clear that the chosen targets of the Yemeni armed forces inside Saudi Arabia are vital targets that the Saudi regime uses to prolong the war against the Yemeni people, led by the oil industry. In contrast, we see that the Saudi regime and other countries of the aggressor coalition have taken the lives of more than 370,000 Yemeni citizens through bombing and siege.
Nonetheless, the EU invitation to all Yemeni parties to attend the Yemeni-Yemeni consultative meetings, scheduled for March 29 under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh, sounds like a joke. How can a country that is the main party to this aggression host Yemeni and Yemeni consultations?! How can the Gulf Cooperation Council, which in most cases supports Saudi crimes against Yemen, monitor the Yemeni-Yemeni summit impartially?! This is the culmination of the EU hypocrisy.
