FARAAN: Experts and observers are of the opinion that the meeting in Jeddah to stop the war in Ukraine has no other result but failure due to the absence of Russia, despite the participation of 40 countries.

In this context, Riyad Eid, an expert on political issues, said in a conversation with Al-Alam: “The Jeddah meeting is an opportunity for Ukrainian President Zelensky to express his opinion. But the problem is that the real war is basically between Russia and the West, and Putin’s demands go far beyond Ukraine; these demands are about NATO, Europe and the new world order.”
This Arab political expert believes: “Russia’s action in withdrawing from the grain agreement dealt a terrible blow to Europe; because 40% of the world’s grains are exported to Europe, and stopping the export of Ukrainian grains will definitely have the greatest impact on Europe.”
According to Riyad Eid, now Europe is suffering from both energy shortage and grain shortage. Therefore, Europe is facing two major energy and food crises. On the other hand, Ukraine’s counterattacks against Russia have not been very successful. These data show that the US-NATO war to hit Russia and disintegrate it has had opposite results for Europe and America.
This political expert further notes that America gave Zelensky the opportunity to present his initiative at the Jeddah meeting. However, the fact remains that Russia is the winner of the field and the unlimited war continues, Putin has emphasized that this battle will continue until after the American elections.
Abbas Habish, an Arab expert on Russian issues, also says that America is looking for anyone or anything through which it can register a victory against Russia, and the Jeddah meeting is actually in this direction.
According to him, Europe and America have decided to defeat Russia at all levels; but Ukraine, Europe, NATO and America have actually reached a dead end to realize their goal. They made little progress with their counter-attacks over several months and did a lot of media, political and financial propaganda for these attacks.
Habish predicted that the Jeddah meeting would have the same results as the Copenhagen meeting that was held last June and had no other result than failure. The two-day international meeting aimed at discussing a peaceful solution to end the war in Ukraine, which was hosted by Saudi Arabia in Jeddah on Saturday with the participation of more than 40 countries and in the absence of Russia , ended on Sunday.
