Gaza’s Floating Port… from Claim to Reality!

FARAAN: The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced: “The US military has completed the construction of the floating port in Gaza, but the current weather conditions do not allow this two-part facility to safely move from Ashdod port in southern occupied Palestine to its designated location, in front of the Gaza coast to help facilitate the process of sending humanitarian aid to Gaza.

News and Analysis:

The US Ministry of Defense added in its statement on Wednesday that the seaport built by the US army near the coast of Gaza was dismantled due to strong winds and high waves that created unsafe conditions for the soldiers working on its docks. The port of was moved to Ashdod. It is naive to say that the construction of a port on the shores of the Gaza Strip by the US at a cost of 320 million dollars was created to deliver humanitarian aid to the starving people of Gaza with “humanitarian goals and motives”, while it was possible for this amount of food and aid to be sent to Gaza through crossings with neighboring countries.

Moreover, the effective solution to the tragedy of the people of Gaza is to stop the genocide that they are exposed to, the genocide that is carried out with the weapons, support and political cover of America. It is true that US President Joe Biden was the first to talk about building a floating port in front of Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. Although there is absolutely no need for such a port, because Biden has complete control over the Israeli regime, and with a short phone call, he can order Netanyahu to reopen all the closed crossings, but the idea of building the port basically belongs to Netanyahu, which Biden used in this critical situation to achieve several goals.

First of all: Biden and Netanyahu’s view of Bandar as an alternative to UNRWA is a reminder of the issue of the Palestinian people and the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their original land and homeland, and removing UNRWA means removing the issue of refugees from its legal and humanitarian aspects.

Second: Creating the groundwork for the movement of the people of Gaza, through the port, outside the Gaza strip, especially since this port is connected to the port of Larnaca in Cyprus, not to any Arab country.

Third: legitimizing the presence of America and Israel in the Gaza Strip under the pretext of managing this port and thus imposing a new security reality in the Gaza Strip and ending Palestinian sovereignty and thus laying the groundwork for the reconstruction of Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip.

Fourth: The construction of the port gives the US and the Zionist regime a golden opportunity to plunder the natural wealth of Gaza with billions of dollars, because the oil and gas reserves in the Palestinian territories, according to the report of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, are about 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil and 1.4 trillion cubic feet.

Finally, the US-Israel calculations may be “accurate” from the point of view of Biden and Netanyahu, but this “accuracy” does not apply to Gaza, because the oppressors and rebels do not usually deem faith, will, martyrdom, sacrifice, adherence to the land and defense as vital matters. And these were the reasons for the failure of America and the Israeli regime, and after the “Al-Aqsa storm”, it increased sharply, in a way that stunned the world, and with the same storms in the Mediterranean Sea, which has confused Biden-Netanyahu and their failed plans.
