The head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said: “Lebanon’s power and stability are in the interest of Palestine.”
Faraan: “Nabih Berri’s presidency of the Lebanese parliament is a guarantee and encouragement for Palestine,” Ismail Haniyeh said on Monday after meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
He added: “In this meeting, we emphasized the full solidarity of Palestine with Lebanon on the issue of the Zionist regime’s encroachment on the country’s gas and oil resources and Lebanon’s right to fully exploit its natural resources.”
Haniyeh added: “In the meeting with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, the developments in Palestine, especially Al-Quds, Al-Aqsa Mosque, the issue of the sanctities of Muslims and Christians, and the situation in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon were examined and the right of Palestinians to return to their homeland was emphasized.” He said: “The situation in the region, including the Zionist regime’s efforts to form coalitions in order to bring itself into the region and the reconstruction of the Nahr al-Bard camp were other issues that were discussed at this meeting.”
The head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) added: The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament emphasized his firm commitment to the Lebanese right to draw the borders and to prevent the loss of Lebanese rights in a united stance with the presence of the nation and the resistance. Haniyeh arrived in the Lebanese capital last Tuesday at the head of a high-ranking delegation of Hamas officials.
The head of Hamas’ political bureau and the accompanying delegation also met on Wednesday with Lebanese Sunni Mufti Abdul Latif Daryan, on Thursday with Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and on Friday with Lebanese President Michel Aoun.
