Interesting Analysis by Israeli Expert on Hezbollah’s New Weapons: Even Cockroaches Won’t Survive!

FARAAN: The Hebrew-language newspaper “Maariv” published an article analyzing a recent report by the Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Jarida” about Hezbollah’s electromagnetic weapons.

Following the publication of this report, the newspaper interviewed Rotem Meital, CEO of Asgard Systems, a company involved in the development of military technology for the Israeli defense industry. He said, “Talking about electromagnetic weapons is talking about something that no one has seen before, but everyone knows it exists in the geopolitical and military chessboard of the Middle East.”
Rotem Meital further explained about this electromagnetic weapon: “Imagine a lightning strike hitting a residential building, causing the water and electricity systems, household appliances, television systems, and all medical systems to fail, just like a power outage.

These systems can burn out from the inside, just like an electrical short circuit.” He added, “I think most of the threats are directed at strategic bases and installations, desalination plants, and Israel’s power grid systems, but it cannot be said with certainty that such a weapon has been used in history.”

Meital stated, “Physics is physics, but their method of using such a capability is different, and I think this model will definitely involve a drone flying at low altitude, similar to the Houthi attack near the US Embassy in Tel Aviv over the weekend. Instead of a warhead with explosives, the front of the drone can be equipped with a preemptive electromagnetic pulse mechanism that activates when the drone flies and emits an electromagnetic pulse at the moment of contact with the target.”

He added, “However, this matter is not certain and is more speculative because there is still no evidence of the use of such a weapon or technology.” Meital said that the threat from unconventional weapons is possible because, in 2024, electronic processors manage and operate all of Israel’s vital systems, including infrastructure, medical systems, and security and military programs.

In his concluding remarks, he said, “Compared to the 1960s, when they said that in the event of a nuclear explosion, only cockroaches would survive… but in an electromagnetic attack, even the cockroaches will not survive, and everyone will be affected.”
