Israel will not get back its prisoners without a swap deal

Deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau Saleh al-Arouri has reiterated his Movement’s position on the Israeli soldiers in Gaza, affirming that they will not see the light of day except through an exchange deal that guarantees the freedom of Palestinian prisoners.

Faraan: In a speech on the 34th founding anniversary of Hamas, Arouri said that a prisoner swap deal is the only way for the Israelis to get back their prisoners in Gaza.

He asserted that the freedom of the Palestinian prisoners would remain a top priority and a national and humanitarian goal for his Movement.

The Hamas official also highlighted the need to heal the national rift in the Palestinian arena, calling for necessarily reforming the Palestinian house in its entirety, including the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), and holding legislative, presidential, trade union and municipal elections.
