A committee in the Zionist regime’s parliament has passed a law aimed at preventing the former prime minister from forming a cabinet if it is finally approved.
Faraan: The Committee on Legal Affairs in the Knesset (Israeli parliament) passed a law on Sunday aimed at preventing the formation of a cabinet by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The law, dubbed the “Accused Law,” seeks to prevent the formation of a cabinet by lawmakers who have been formally charged with a crime. Netanyahu, the main rival of the Naftali Bennett-Yair Lapid coalition cabinet, is currently charged with three counts of corruption. Netanyahu supporters have accused the plan of personally attacking the former Israeli prime minister, saying they intend to change the rules of the game ahead of the election.
Following the recent vote on the dissolution of the Knesset, the Office of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime began to explain and inform the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tel Aviv, Yair Lapid, about important political and security issues in order to prepare him for the post of Prime Minister. “The latest reading of the Knesset dissolution law is expected to be read today (Monday) or Tuesday at the latest,” Russia Today reported. “This step will be taken with the aim of blocking the path of former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu so that he will not be able to succeed in forming an alternative cabinet.”
Netanyahu had previously said he would not allow the United Arab List party in the Israeli parliament, led by Mansour Abbas, to join the cabinet coalition he will form. He described the party’s Palestinian Arab representatives as anti-Semitic and supporter of terrorism. However, some Zionist representatives have also opposed Netanyahu’s goal of forming an alternative cabinet instead of holding early elections. “It supports the bill [dissolving the Knesset and the elections] so that Netanyahu does not have a chance to return,” said Gideon Saer, leader of the New Hope party.
“This law is considered a political settlement that does not only target Netanyahu; It also threatens the right of Israelis to vote.” Despite all the efforts of the far right alongside Netanyahu, Naftali Bennett is preparing to hand over the cabinet to Lapid. He said yesterday (Saturday) that he would resign this week, agreeing on the exact date of the next round of elections, and that the current foreign minister would take responsibility for advancing things until early elections.
