FARAAN: The government of Mexico condemned the deployment of Zionist troops in the border city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, after the beginning of the ground military operation of the Zionist regime in this area, and emphasized that attacks against civilians are a “serious violation” of international humanitarian law.
According to the Telesur TV website, this Latin American country issued a statement and announced: “The government of Mexico condemns the military attack by the Israeli armed forces on the city of Rafah and expresses its deep concern about the disastrous consequences that such an advance could have on the lives of thousands of civilians living in this city.” Mexico City called for a ceasefire to achieve peace, recalling that attacks against civilians are a “serious violation” of international humanitarian law.
This statement continues: “Mexico hopes that humanitarian aid will reach the entire Gaza Strip without any problems, so that the maximum number of people can access them immediately and avoid the escalation of the current humanitarian disaster. The government of Mexico under the presidency of Andrés Manuel López Obrador also emphasized that this country will continue to fight to resolve the tension between Israel and Palestine in the United Nations.”
According to this official statement, “Mexico will continue to fight at the multilateral level, especially in the United Nations, for a two-state solution as the only structural solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.” Before Mexico, the governments of Brazil and Venezuela also condemned the beginning of the military operation of the Zionist regime in the border city of Rafah and asked the international community and the United Nations Security Council to overcome the indifference regarding the violation of human rights and humanitarian laws by this regime.
On Monday, Zionist soldiers started military operations in the border city of Rafah. Hamas announced that it had agreed to the terms of the Gaza ceasefire agreement proposed by Egypt and Qatar, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the agreement unacceptable. It is said that more than one million people have taken refuge in this city. A well-informed source in the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in an interview with Arabi 21, referring to the beginning of a new round of negotiations to establish a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip from today, Wednesday in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt, warned: “If there is a change in the proposed plan a truce brokered by mediators, the movement may withdraw from negotiations.”
