The Palestinian Orthodox bishop said the Ukraine war well exposed the double standards of the West.
Faraan: According to the news website, Attaullah Hana, the head of the Palestinian Orthodox Bishop, said on Thursday night that he was witnessing double standards in the world these days, as Western governments, while shedding tears for Ukraine, they have ignored the victims of other wars in created in other countries.
The orthodox bishop of Palestine added: “It was the United States and its allies who destroyed Iraq and committed horrific and unprecedented killings and war crimes, just as they conspired against Syria and waged war and destroyed this country.”
He continued: “Palestine and its people were also exposed to all kinds of suffering, pain and displacement, but we did not see the kind of solidarity that we are seeing now in Ukraine.” Asked whether Palestinians who have suffered from years of occupation and displacement do not deserve solidarity, Hana stressed that the ugliness of Western politics is most evident today.
“Many people who pursue these issues are well aware that human rights and human dignity are not important to the West at all. However, the only important issue is their economic, political and colonial interests and programs,” he said bluntly.
Hana said: “Recently, we have witnessed the repeated aggression of the Zionist regime against Syria and Palestine, but these actions were not condemned by any country and these abuses continue and have not stopped, especially in the city of Quds.”
In the end, the Palestinian archbishop blamed the United States and the West for selling their weapons to the Ukraine war, adding that the fate of the nations was not important to them at all, only economic and political interests were important to them.
