FARAAN: Referring to the non-implementation of the initial ruling of the International Court of Justice regarding the need to prevent the Zionist regime’s genocide in the Gaza Strip and expressing concern about the situation in the city of Rafah in the south of the region, the President of South Africa said that his country has asked this court to resolve the Rafah problem and issue a verdict for it.
According to the report of Arabi21, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said: “Israel did not implement the rulings issued by the International Court of Justice. The Israeli regime has not adhered to the ruling of the International Court of Justice, and for this reason, we came to the conclusion to submit an urgent request to solve the problems of Rafah, where more than 100 people have been martyred so far.”
The President of South Africa added: “We ask the International Court of Justice to adopt another ruling on how to deal with this issue and ways to prevent new incidents from happening.” He emphasized: “There is also the worrying issue that the people of Gaza are dying of hunger.” As many international organizations have warned about this. The South African government has submitted an urgent request to the International Court of Justice to review the Israeli regime’s decision to expand military operations in Rafah and to prevent the implementation of this decision by the Zionist regime.
South Africa has previously submitted a complaint against the Zionist regime to the International Court of Justice for violating the Genocide Convention. According to IRNA, the first meeting of the International Court of Justice regarding the investigation of South Africa’s complaint against the Zionist regime in the genocide case of this regime in the Gaza Strip was held on Thursday, January 21. During this meeting, the representative of South Africa and the legal team of this country emphasized separately that the Israeli regime has intensified mass killing and the genocide and killing of Palestinians in Gaza must be stopped.
The second meeting was held the next day (Friday, 22nd of January) and the judges of the court were given a few weeks to issue their verdict in this case. The preliminary ruling of the International Court of Justice regarding South Africa’s complaint against the Zionist regime was issued on Friday, the 26th of January, and based on it, the Zionist regime was required to take measures to prevent the genocide in Gaza.
