FARAAN: The representative of the Islamic Jihad movement in Tehran said that the “defeat of Palestine” in the event known as “Nakba” (the founding day of the Zionist regime), a widespread crime of the modern era, has been going on against the Palestinian nation since 1948 until today.
Nasser Abu Sharif, representative of the Islamic Jihad movement in Tehran, said in an interview with Al-Alam news channel: “The suffering of the Palestinian nation continues since the establishment of the Zionist regime (Nakba Day)”.
He pointed out that the Palestinian nation has never stopped its struggle against the Zionist regime and its settlement project in the Palestinian territory.
Abu Sharif clarified that despite the fact that 74 years have passed since the Nakba day of the establishment of the Zionist regime and the defeat of Palestine in this event, half of the inhabitants of the occupied lands are still Palestinians, and this shows that the racial cleansing operation of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian nation have failed.
He said: “Today, the Palestinians are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the defeat of the Nakbah Day while the Zionists are occupying Palestine and have driven more than 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and villages.”
On this occasion, Palestinians demonstrated while holding placards with the names of their cities and villages – from which their ancestors were driven – and placards with a photo of a key as a symbol of returning to the homeland, in the camps, Quds and the Bank West Bank and Gaza. This year, for the first time, the United Nations is going to hold a ceremony on this occasion at its headquarters in New York, and Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, will give a speech about the history of Palestine.
