FARAAN: A period of 5 days of public mourning after the martyrdom of the president and his accompanying delegation/informer, has been announced by the order of the supreme leader of the revolution.
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a message following the helicopter accident of the President and his delegation, along with the announcement of five days of public mourning, expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of the President and his dear companions.
Ayatollah Khamenei, in a message on the martyrdom of Hojjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Seyid Ibrahim Raisi, the Islamic President of Iran, Dr. Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hojjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimin Al-Hashim, the representative of the religious jurist in East Azerbaijan, Dr. Rahmati, the Governor of East Azerbaijan, and their dear companions expressed his condolences following the plane crash.
The text of the condolence message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution is as follows:
“In the name of God.
We are for God and to Him we return.
It was with great sadness and regret that I received the bitter news of the martyrdom of the Mujahid scholar, the people’s president with sufficient and hard work, the servant of Imam al-Reza (peace be upon him), Hujjatul islam wal Muslimin, Mr. Haj Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi and his dear companions, may God bless him and grant them His mercy.
This unfortunate incident happened during his service to the nation. The entire period of responsibility of this noble and selfless person, both during the short term of the presidency and before that, was completely spent in continuous efforts in serving the people, the country and Islam.
This dear president was always working hard and never accepted tiredness. In this tragic incident, the Iranian nation lost a sincere and valuable servant. For him, the welfare and satisfaction of the people, which indicates God’s satisfaction, was preferred over everything, so his annoyances from the ingratitude and taunts of some ill-wishers did not prevent him from working day and night to improve the affairs of his citizens.
In this serious incident, prominent personalities such as Hajjat al-Islam Al Hashem, the popular and reliable Friday Imam of Tabriz, Mr. Amir Abdullahian, the active and militant foreign minister, Mr. Malik Rahmati, the revolutionary and pious governor of East Azerbaijan, and the flight group and other companions also joined the divine mercy.
I announce five days of public mourning and offer my condolences to the dear people of Iran. According to Article 131 of the Constitution, Mr. Mokhber is in the position of managing the executive branch and he is obliged to arrange with the heads of the legislative and judicial branches to elect a new president within a maximum of fifty days.
At the end, I offer my sincere condolences to the dear mother of Mr. Raisi and his honorable wife and other survivors of the President and the respected families of his companions, especially the father of Majid, Mr. Al Hashem, and I ask for their patience and consolation and God’s mercy for the departed.”
