Brigadier General Haitham Hassoun, a Syrian military and strategic expert, also noted that two incidents, one of which was the concussion of 23 American soldiers last March as a result of two attacks by armed men, and the other was the injury of 22 other American soldiers in a helicopter crash. The American helicopter in northeastern Syria is different in terms of the form and process of events.
He said: “The first incident was taken by the warring parties with the United States of America, because the United States admitted that what happened was the result of a hostile military action.”
This Syrian military and strategic expert added: “The recent mysterious accident of the American helicopter may be due to a technical defect or that it was targeted by hostile fire. However, the US will not consider the damages caused by it as a result of hostile action, because this will require a change in policy and also a change in strategy that it follows in the interaction with Al-Tanf region and the eastern region of Syria.”
He explained that this incident requires time for a specific party to take charge of this attack or for the American occupying forces to announce more details about it. At the same time, Majid Nameh, an Arab political writer, also noted that whether the American helicopter accident in northern Syria is due to a technical incident or due to the military operation of the popular resistance, the result is the same.
