Two soldiers killed in Turkish border

Faraan: A local Turkish official announced today (Tuesday) that two soldiers were killed and four others were injured during an attack on a checkpoint in the border area of ​​the Syrian lands and near the city of “Sanli-Urfa” in the southeast of Turkey.

In an interview with “Sputnik” news agency, this Ankara official said: “Today, a Turkish border post was attacked on the Syrian border. An attack that killed two soldiers and injured four people. The condition of three of these wounded people is critical.” Today, the governor of the city of Ghazi Aintab reported that a mortar was fired at the neighboring city of Jarablus in Syria, but there were no casualties. In response, the Turkish army bombed the positions of the ISIS terrorist group in northern Syria.

Two days ago (Sunday), the Syrian Enab Baladi news website reported that the Turkish army had brought a convoy of heavy weapons, artillery and tanks into Idlib province in northwestern Syria and distributed these weapons in different areas of the province. Meanwhile, Syrian Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas said today (Tuesday) during a speech at the ‘Moscow for International Security’ conference in Russia: “We emphasize the need to end the US and Turkish occupations in parts of Syria. So that we can expand the government’s control over them and invest in our national resources that are subject to looting and theft.”

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, this afternoon, in a joint press conference with his Latvian counterpart in Ankara, mentioned the issue of reconciliation with Syria and said: “All parties should sit at the negotiating table and end the war in Syria.” Recently, the General Command of the Syrian Army and the Armed Forces announced that the Syrian Army is fully prepared to deal with any possible Turkish attack on the Syrian territory. At the same time, these attacks continue on the borders of Turkey and Syria. Some regional media reported the possibility of talks between Ankara and Damascus.
