UN condemns Yemeni army attacks on Saudi oil facilities and the coalition attacks

The United Nations has reacted to recent developments in Yemen.

Faraan: According to Reuters, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the attacks and counterattacks by the Yemeni army and the Saudi-led military coalition and called for “restraint” on all sides involved in the seven-year war.

“The Secretary-General strongly condemns the escalation of the recent conflict in the Yemeni war,” said UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric. In a recent wave of attacks on Saudi Arabia, the Yemeni army targeted an oil facility near the Formula One track in Jeddah, causing a large fire.

In response, the Saudi-led military coalition targeted Sana’a and the port city of Hudeidah on Saturday. According to the United Nations, attacks on Sana’a have killed eight civilians. The exchange of fire took place on the eve of the seventh anniversary of Saudi Arabia’s military intervention in Yemen.
