“We Will Avenge Our Guest’s Killer”

FARAAN: “The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime martyred our dear guest in our home and left us in mourning, but at the same time, it paved the way for severe punishment for itself. In this painful and tragic incident that occurred within the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we consider avenging his blood our duty.”

One News and Several Analyses:

This was part of a statement by the Supreme Leader, offering condolences for the martyrdom of the great Mujahid, “Ismail Haniyeh,” the head of Hamas’ political bureau, in Tehran. “Masoud Pezeshkian,” the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also issued a statement expressing condolences for the martyrdom of Iran’s constant partner and ally on the path of resistance, the courageous leader of the Palestinian resistance, and the martyr of Jerusalem, Ismail Haniyeh. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic will make the terrorist occupiers regret the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh.
The second statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) regarding the treacherous assassination of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh stated: “Undoubtedly, this crime by the Zionist regime will face a harsh and painful response from the powerful and great resistance front, especially Islamic Iran.”

It is clear that the main reason for the Zionist regime’s return to the policy of assassination is to cover up its shameful failures during the 9-month war against Gaza. The coincidence of the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh in Tehran, the assassination attempt on “Fuad Shukur” (Haj Mohsen) in the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the attack on Hashd al-Shaabi positions in the “Jurf al-Sakhar” area of Iraq all indicate these failures and the terrorist and criminal nature of the fake Israeli regime.

However, what distinguishes the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh from the other two crimes is that this crime took place in Tehran, and this martyr was a guest of Iran. Therefore, these two factors will prompt Iran to powerfully avenge the blood of its guest in response to Israel’s blatant violation of its territory, and Israel will pay a heavy price for it. Certainly, Netanyahu would not have committed this crime if he were not relying on U.S. support. It was this reliance that emboldened him to commit the crime, as he was under the delusion that Iran would either hesitate in taking revenge or respond symbolically, merely to save face, out of fear of direct U.S. intervention in the war to defend the Zionist regime.

However, the Zionist regime has overlooked the fact that Iran will never forgive any party that violates its sovereignty and assassinates its guests, and it will even engage in direct military confrontation with the U.S. if necessary. Undoubtedly, the loss of such an important, courageous, and patient figure as Ismail Haniyeh is a significant blow to the resistance axis. However, the resistance is filled with his comrades who will fill the void left by his absence.

Resistance groups like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Ansarullah, and Hashd al-Shaabi have sacrificed their best sons for the cause of Jerusalem, but their resolve has never wavered. In one of his meetings with the Supreme Leader, Martyr Haniyeh said: “If one of our greats falls, another great will rise.” So, blessed be our dear, great, courageous, and patient martyr, Ismail Haniyeh, who said that the outcome of jihad is either victory or martyrdom. Iran, too, says to him: “We will avenge our guest’s killer.”
