Why can’t Biden embargo Iran’s oil?

FARAAN: Analysts believe that it is unlikely that the Washington government will impose serious sanctions on Iran’s oil exports following Iran’s massive missile and drone response to the Zionist regime, and they consider the reason for this to be the concern of the consequences of these sanctions.

According to Al-Alam, quoted by Reuters, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Sunday morning that in response to the recent crimes of the Zionist regime in the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, it fired dozens of missiles and drones at targets in the occupied territories.

Following this attack, America and its allies have announced that they do not support military action against Iran, but they intend to “isolate” Iran by imposing economic and diplomatic sanctions and impose pressure on Tehran. But the Republican leaders in the US House of Representatives accused the “Joe Biden” government of being unable to implement the current sanctions against Iran, and announced that this week they will present and review a series of bills to intensify the sanctions against this country.

In this regard, some observers of Middle East issues stated that they doubt that Biden will take important steps to strengthen the implementation of the current US sanctions against the export of crude oil and the vital artery of Iran’s economy. “Even if these bills are approved, it is unlikely that the Biden administration will rush to implement them or limit Iran’s oil exports,” said Scott Madalel, a former CIA officer and CEO of Rapidan Energy Group.

According to these sources, if the US government takes punitive measures against Iran, it will face the greatest pressure and political challenge, including the increase in the price of crude oil and the anger of China, which is the largest buyer of Iranian oil. “Bob McNally”, the head of an energy consulting company, expressed his opinion in this regard that the sanctions on Chinese banks due to facilitating the purchase of oil from Iran can reduce oil production in the world by 1.5 million barrels, which can increase the price of each barrel of oil to more than 100 dollar increase and “it will be a nightmare for the Biden administration.”

This analyst added: Biden cannot cope with the consequences of Iran’s oil embargo. Maybe they will take a few symbolic actions and put pressure on a few companies, but they probably won’t go beyond that. A Zionist official, who is in the process of indirect ceasefire negotiations between the Hamas resistance movement and the Tel Aviv regime, noted that this movement has been able to survive so far, so it is considered victorious.

According to Al-Alam, an Israeli source familiar with the cease-fire negotiations with the Palestinian resistance movement (Hamas) emphasized to the American channel “CNN” that the longer the war, the stronger the Hamas movement will become. This is the reality. An Israeli official also announced to the Hebrew website “Wala” that in recent negotiations, Hamas proposed the release of 20 Israeli prisoners in exchange for a temporary 6-week ceasefire in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli detention centers.

According to the official, whose name was not mentioned by the Hebrew website, Hamas emphasized that it had reduced the number of Israeli prisoners from 40 to 20 because some of these prisoners were killed and others were taken hostage by other groups in the Gaza Strip.
