Yemen’s last chance to the Saudi government

The Sana’a government has called on the Saudi-Emirati coalition to engage seriously in the peace process in Yemen and to stop any action that would prevent an agreement.

Faraan: A few hours before the start of the “Third Riyadh” consultations, the Sana’a government called on the Saudi-Emirati coalition to engage seriously in the peace process in Yemen and to stop all actions that would prevent an agreement from being reached.

Mehdi al-Mashat, chairman of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council in Sana’a, proposed a new plan to end military tensions that would halt missile and drone strikes and any anti-Saudi military operations on land, sea and air for three days. He also announced the principled readiness of the Ansarullah movement to turn this plan, which includes the Ma’rib Front, into full and permanent adherence if the Saudi government adheres to the end of the siege of Yemen and stops air strikes on it completely and permanently.

The Sana’a plan, which has once again proposed the complete release of all prisoners of war on both sides under the “all against all” rule, is still awaiting a response from the Saudi side. However, Mehdi Al-Mashat’s plan was implemented from the beginning of yesterday evening at 6:00 PM and will continue for three days.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Abdul Salam, the spokesman for the Ansarullah movement and chairman of the Yemeni negotiating team, stressed that a positive interaction with the chairman of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council is the key to peace. He added: “It is possible to talk about political solutions in a calm atmosphere and away from military or humanitarian pressure.”
